Contrary to what predominantly well, able-bodied people appear
to believe; there can be life, and fulfilling life at that, after
illness or disability even if you don't recover fully. Douglas
Bader. Christy Brown and the Para-Olympians are all proof of
that. You don't need to be totally physically or mentally able
to enjoy many aspects of life. Most people can still give and
receive love, pass on ideas or feelings and/or experiences, the
same as everyone else. In many cases it is still possible to
play a role in society even after someone becomes disabled.
